The dark green appearance of the e-scooters will soon become part of the Rotterdam street scene, aiming to let users contribute to a cleaner and quieter city. The scooters are fully electric and run on Dutch green energy.
Earlier this summer, it was announced that the startup raised €3 million to realize the expansion to Rotterdam. Alderman Arno Bonte of Sustainability, Air Quality, and Energy Transition gave the green light for the shared service in Rotterdam.
Milestone for felyx
Alderman Bonte on felyx: 'Sharing transportation means is the future, and if this happens to be electric, it makes me very happy. This initiative makes a beautiful contribution to Rotterdam's ambition to make the air in the city cleaner.'

Co-founder Quinten Selhorst: 'The introduction in Rotterdam is not only a milestone for felyx but also for the concept of electric shared transport. Felyx thereby proves the importance of shared transport and the benefits for livability and air quality in cities. After Rotterdam, we hope to convince other cities of the advantages that felyx has to offer.'
How does it work?
By using the felyx app, a renter can immediately find an e-scooter in their vicinity. At a price of €0.30 per minute, the renter can then travel from A to B, without being affected by delays or other transport issues. Once arrived, the e-scooter can be parked and locked according to existing laws and regulations by ending the ride in the app.
