Electric SUV with smart technology and large range
Leapmotor has started selling the B03X in China, where the model was introduced under the name A10. The European launch will follow later this year. The B03X is the first model on the brand's new A-platform and targets a global market.
The SUV clearly positions itself in the segment of affordable, intelligent electric cars. Notable are the advanced ADAS systems with LiDAR support, a range of up to 505 kilometers according to the CLTC cycle, and an efficient, oil-cooled electric powertrain. This model combines technology and performance that are typically found in higher segments.
Leapmotor developed this technology largely in-house. Thanks to the combination of LiDAR and Qualcomm's 8650 ADAS processor, the car can autonomously park and navigate at low speeds. The manufacturer aims to make these functionalities available for multiple models via OTA updates, in line with the brand promise "Technology for All, Premium for Less."
Designed for a global market
The B03X will be rolled out in nearly forty countries and regions. The design follows the Tech Nature Aesthetics 2.0 philosophy, where modern lines and functionality come together. With a length of 4,270 mm, a width of 1,810 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,605 mm, the SUV offers a dynamic appearance and remarkably spacious interior.
Elements such as a sloping hood, flowing body, a floating roof, and wide wheel arches enhance the SUV character. The 18-inch alloy wheels complete the visual package.
Smart interior with maximum space utilization
Inside, Leapmotor strongly focuses on comfort and flexibility. The panoramic glass roof of 1.55 m² filters 99.9 percent of UV radiation and contributes to a spacious feeling. The finish consists of soft-touch materials and OEKO-TEX certified upholstery.
An important distinguishing factor is the efficient space layout. Thanks to the CTC 2.0 Plus battery integration and an optimized front compartment, the B03X achieves a space efficiency of 88.1 percent. This translates to an interior that competes with models from higher segments in terms of space.
The flexible seating concept allows for various configurations, from daily use to relaxation or transport. Think of features like Large Bed Mode and Relax Recline Mode. Additionally, there are 34 storage compartments and a trunk that varies from 602 to 1,549 liters. Under the floor, there is an extra compartment of 106 liters for separate storage of wet and dry items.
The infotainment system offers a 7.1 surround sound setup with twelve speakers, noise cancellation, and support for Carlink 2.0 and Huawei HiCar 4.0.
Efficient powertrain and fast charging
The electric powertrain is powered by a 53 kWh battery and delivers a range of up to 505 kilometers. This makes the B03X suitable for both daily use and longer trips.
Fast charging from 30 to 80 percent takes only 16 minutes, providing approximately 250 kilometers of additional range. The energy consumption averages 10.7 kWh per 100 kilometers, making the model one of the most economical in its class. The top speed is 160 km/h.
The LMC Integrated Motion Control System developed by Leapmotor increases stability in critical situations such as aquaplaning, slippery conditions, or evasive maneuvers. With a turning circle of 5.1 meters, the car remains maneuverable in urban environments.
Safety as a priority
Safety played a central role during development. The B03X was tested for more than a million kilometers under extreme conditions. The body is made of steel that can withstand more than three times the vehicle's weight.
Additionally, the SUV features eighteen active safety systems, including emergency braking and evasive assistance. The battery is designed to prevent fire or explosion for up to 48 hours after a thermal incident. Extra features such as Sentry Mode and a built-in dashcam ensure continuous monitoring.
Strategic role in growth plans
The B03X plays a key role in Leapmotor's international ambitions. The model aims to contribute to the goal of selling one million vehicles worldwide by 2026.
