The new platform is suitable for a variety of event types. Large organizations can use it to host corporate meetings or invite external participants for conferences. Smaller organizations and entrepreneurs, who are already using OnZoom to organize virtual meetings such as fitness classes or cooking workshops, will soon be able to do this on Zoom Events. OnZoom, currently available as a beta version, will become part of Zoom Events, allowing events to be kept private or opened to the public.

The key features of Zoom Events:

  • Set up an event hub where you can easily manage and share events
  • Customizable ticket sales and registration
  • Manage access and billing in one place
  • Organize free or paid events
  • Set up one-time or recurring events
  • Allow attendees to network virtually
  • Gain insights into statistics such as the number of attendees, registrations, revenue, and more
  • Events can be organized privately but also offered publicly, allowing the audience to discover your events
  • Zoom Events can be used with existing paid Zoom Meetings or Video Webinar licenses.

"It’s an exciting time to be working at Zoom. The pace at which we innovate is continuously accelerating," says Oded Gal, Chief Product Officer at Zoom. "We know that people are looking for more flexibility in how they want to attend events. The hybrid model is the future, and Zoom Events is the perfect solution for our customers who want to organize events flexibly, whether it’s a private or public event. This way, we help our customers scale to meet consumer expectations in the constantly evolving virtual and hybrid landscape."

The launch of Zoom Events aligns with the results of recent global research, How Virtual Do We Want Our Future to Be?, which focuses on the role of video communication in daily life post-COVID. The research shows that nearly 79% of respondents expect all aspects of daily life to retain a virtual element. Half of the respondents are open to attending hybrid events. Zoom Events makes this possible for them.
