How incredibly proud we are of our Olympic winter athletes! A great harvest of medals and it was wonderful to live in suspense to see if the lap times were still on schedule. But also a lot of sympathy for 'our' Sven who missed out on the gold medal in the ten kilometers. So much attention was directed at him that we almost forgot winner Jorrit Bergsma. But why was Jorrit better? You don't have to be a skating expert to answer that question: among other things, timing, maximum effort, courage, distinctiveness, all skills that make an athlete a top athlete and able to peak at the right moment. How recognizable for many entrepreneurs!
Entrepreneurship is often compared to top sports. Many former top athletes and coaches of Olympic athletes are sought-after speakers for entrepreneurs' associations for inspiration. Just Google names like Jacco Verhaeren, Marc Lammers, Jochem Uytdehaage, and Erben Wennemars. So it's no surprise that many (top) athletes are also successful as entrepreneurs. Former skater Ben van den Burg is now the commercial director of the successful Triple IT, an innovative company that manages websites and develops consumer applications, and let's not forget Johan Cruyff, who has experienced business life with ups and downs and is now very successful with the Johan Cruyff Foundation. Through the realization of sports courts in the Netherlands and abroad, all upcoming new (top) athletes are also given opportunities.
And is there still some Olympic talent in me? So far, I have managed to win two gold medals: The first as a local gymnastics champion at the age of nine and the second gold medal was really the 'winning' of the title 'Businesswoman of the Year'. You understand that I am not going to stop now and am still in training for the next final, although the finish line is still a bit blurry, shall we say. I will of course keep you updated, should I be included in a new selection.
I also advise you to start the entrepreneur training now, so you can be included in the next dream team. The Olympic dream can now also begin for students of MBO and HBO, as the competition period has started! Through a semi-final and ultimately the National final, Companies can compete for the title Student Company of the Year! And if you have a bit of entrepreneurial courage, then you should also reserve Monday, June 2, in your agenda, because the National Final will take place at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht.
Ready? GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
