Online radio portals are seeing a strong increase in the number of listeners tuning into online radio during the coronavirus pandemic and remote work. All visitors show an increase in the number of stream starts, visit moments, and the number of minutes spent listening to the radio. Previously, this was an average of 2.32 minutes, now it is about 6.39 minutes per average listening moment. This is evident from a study by online radio portal Radiostations.nl.

"People are working from home a lot and don't want to miss the news. The popularity of news is also reflected in the multiple news updates from radio stations. We want to stay up-to-date during the corona period, according to 77% of respondents."

Most people listen to the radio at work, at home, or in the car on the way.
Popular stations include Qmusic, Radio 538, and Radio 2. Among the rapid risers, we see Radio 10, KINK, and Kidsradio. Online, there is a peak between 12:00 and 15:00 (especially teenagers and men).
