Encourage writing and treat children to their first fountain pen

How beautiful and important a graceful handwriting is, you can see in the rare written text that you still encounter. For example, on a found shopping list or a handwritten invoice, it often brims with spelling mistakes, not to mention the illegible chicken scratch. Give your children the joy of writing with a real Lamy fountain pen! These also make great gifts for adults - or for yourself.

Train organizational talent on paper

With a physical planner, you show children that it is often nicer to view a weekly or monthly plan at a glance. Many still prefer it over a maze of various Excel files. A Filofax Organizer is therefore a commonly used item. We sometimes make life harder than it is with all those different apps, while a glance at your planner leaves no room for doubt. No hidden tabs, no incorrectly saved files, no hassle. What you see is what you get.

Connection with nature

If we have lost something in the Netherlands, it is contact with flora and fauna. Our environment is not doing well, probably because we happily live together on a postage stamp with seventeen million people. Nevertheless, there are still plenty of Dutch nature reserves where children can get to know the greenery better, and the importance of taking our responsibility towards animals and nature. Dive into a library and then into the Biesbosch or Veluwe, and explore the Dutch living environment together - completely offline and with different eyes. Also, look for information on recognizing natural signs for the weather, as the rain radar can sometimes be off. Finally, honestly tell children where their food comes from.

Learning to do handy work through play

Through simple tasks, children apply what they learn during their math and physics lessons in practice. For example, by showing how to replace a plug, mix cement, or saw right-angled boards. Naturally, you keep a close eye on them. There are still old-fashioned electrical boxes! In this way, children learn to do handy work in a playful manner, which will certainly come in handy when they move out on their own. Encouraging building with the well-known Danish building blocks is also highly recommended.

Learning to play an instrument: countless benefits

When a child wants to learn to play the guitar or drums: go for it! Not only is musicality important, but it also builds self-confidence. If your child can do something that another child cannot, he or she feels special. Additionally, there are technical educational aspects involved, such as hand-eye coordination. But making music yourself is above all countless times more fun than leaving it to an app.
