This day is specially organized for all companies participating in the entrepreneurship programs of the foundation. The location is Hogeschool van Utrecht in Amersfoort
Entrepreneurship among young people is hot. This is evident not only from the figures of the Chamber of Commerce, but also the number of registrations from companies at Young Entrepreneurship is significant. Every year, more than 25,000 young people start their own business through the foundation. From primary education to university, everyone can learn to be an entrepreneur. To help young entrepreneurs get off to a good start, Young Entrepreneurship organizes a Startup Event.
Gaining Inspiration
Heleen van Oord, Businesswoman of the Year 2012 and board member of the foundation, will open the Startup Event. The HBO winner from last year, Freshmen, will also play a role and share her experiences and do's & don'ts with the new generation of young entrepreneurs. Arko Veefkind, director of the Young Entrepreneurship foundation, is pleased with the number of registrations: 'More than 500 students, teachers, and educators will attend this meeting. They all come to gain inspiration for their own business. This event gives entrepreneurial students and teachers the chance to meet each other and create new networks.'
The workshops range from Marketing & Sales, Online Entrepreneurship, and Creativity and Entrepreneurship to Innovation, Intellectual Property, and Crowdfunding. They are conducted by professionals in their respective fields. A special workshop on Coaching Skills has been developed for teachers.
Learning Entrepreneurship in Practice
This autumn, 191 classes from group 8 of primary school will start with the BizWorld project through Young Entrepreneurship and learn the basic principles of entrepreneurship. In secondary education, 19 classes will learn entrepreneurship in the YES! project, and additionally, 104 real Junior Companies will be established. The number of Student Companies in MBO and HBO/WO is currently 371 and 491, respectively. In addition to the regular programs, Young Entrepreneurship also offers shorter and international entrepreneurship projects, such as Enterprise Without Borders and the Global Enterprise Project.
Young Entrepreneurship inspires and motivates young people to build their entrepreneurial future. It connects education, business, and government. Daily, tens of thousands of young people (students and pupils) are actively engaged in entrepreneurship through programs and projects from Young Entrepreneurship. They are guided by (former) entrepreneurs and financial advisors.
