In 2016, founders Alexander Janssens and his business partner Patrick Van der Peet discovered that gin originally comes from the Netherlands. Fascinated by this forgotten piece of history, they delved into the archives of the British Library. After eighteen months of research, they found one of the very first gin recipes. 'That was a real pinch-me moment,' Alexander says.
In 2018, the launch of Gin 1689 followed. With only ingredients from the original recipe, the award-winning Dutch Dry Gin was created, followed by Dutch Pink Gin, and in 2020 by the 1689 Dutch Pink Gin.

With Dutch Orange Gin, the founders are now further expanding the range. During distillation, they carefully add selected oranges, resulting in a smooth, fruity, and perfectly balanced gin without overpowering sweetness. Ideal in a classic Gin & Tonic with a fresh twist or a beautiful cocktail.
Dutch Orange Gin is made for sunny gatherings, long tables, and orange moments like King's Day and international sports events. The new edition will be available in mid-March at Sligro, Hanos, Gall & Gall, and Topdrinks.nl. The consumer advice price is €34.95.
Alexander: 'With Dutch Orange Gin, we not only serve a flavorful spirit, we let people taste history. The authentic recipe from 300 years ago lives on in every glass. That is the essence of Gin 1689 for me.'
