In the past months, nineteen finalists have been chosen from more than three hundred startups to participate in the selection days on March 3 and 4. Eleven teams have now been selected to further develop their business with intensive guidance. They will achieve in three months what normally takes eighteen months, with the help of mentors. During Demo Day, which takes place in the first week of July, they will present their innovative startups to a room full of investors.
The eleven startups are engaged in various ways to make cities, homes, and our living and working environment smarter. From sustainable and mobile energy to movable homes, educational solutions, and the Internet of Things.
Abroad
For the program, which is led by the Startupbootcamp accelerator in Amsterdam, many foreign startups have registered. Amsterdam has been making significant strides lately in the area of sustainable economic growth. Startups and their innovations play a major role in making the city smarter.
Neelie Kroes, Special Envoy of StartupDelta, sees it as a good sign that so many foreign companies are participating in Startupbootcamp Smart City & Living. 'This shows that the Netherlands has a good reputation as a European location for startups, where growth is central. We need to accelerate and expand this. Smart cities are the future, and therefore it is important that Startupbootcamp challenges these startups to make a difference globally. Let's disrupt!'
