Cloud storage

More and more companies are opting for data storage in the cloud. Daily, or sometimes even multiple times a day, backups are made of important data. This data is then stored at a data center. If something goes wrong with the corporate network, there is always a recent backup available, and no significant data is lost. There are various cloud solutions available, tailored to the size of the company and the amount of data that needs to be secured. Software can also be installed in the cloud so that everyone within the company who is logged in can use it. This can be done not only in the office but also on location, for example, when working from home or giving a presentation to the client.

Telephony via the internet

Fewer and fewer companies use analog telephony. However, having a landline number is desirable, as it comes across as much more professional than a mobile number. Therefore, business telephony is usually included in the setup of the company's IT. Mobile and landline phone lines can be easily combined and forwarded. This way, a customer can reach you via the landline number when you are on the go, and an employee can work from home with a company landline number. For customer service, multiple lines can be used so that waiting customers can be helped quickly. Phone systems can be equipped with menus to quickly connect a caller to the right department.

Online security

Security is very important. Companies are increasingly becoming victims of cyberattacks. This can have far-reaching consequences. In January 2025, a cyberattack hit Eindhoven University of Technology. The university was forced to shut down the entire network. Classes could not continue, and exams were postponed. Small businesses can also fall prey to cybercriminals. Therefore, it is wise to have a security check performed by an ethical hacker. This person will attempt to breach the network and steal or modify sensitive data. If successful, measures must be taken to better secure the corporate network. Of course, it is also important to properly instruct employees on the use of systems and when consulting websites or clicking on links in email messages. With good security, much trouble can be prevented, but unfortunately, such systems are usually not foolproof. Cybercriminals are often just one step ahead of internet security, which means you must always remain alert to potential cyberattacks.
