For the second season of The High North, Dionne Stax once again travels for a year through Norway and Sweden, searching for compatriots who choose adventure in the Scandinavian wilderness. Dionne experiences what it is like to live in these often remote places by participating in daily life.

Dionne Stax is back in The High North and immediately finds herself in the impressive landscape of wintery Spitsbergen, where the sun has not risen above the horizon for months. Here she meets Martin, who can greatly enjoy that twilight light in winter. About 1265 kilometers south, but still above the Arctic Circle, the Boltendal family was allowed to come and 'trial live' in the Norwegian Beiarn for a year. Now that trial year is over, they have to fend for themselves throughout the long dark winter. For Janke and Leo, taking over a sled dog business in the Swedish Stöllet sixteen years ago meant a welcome change in their lives. Since then, the winters of these fit sixties have been entirely focused on sledding trips and twenty-seven huskies. In the Klerkx family in Vedevåg, everything goes into pause mode in winter. And that allows for other things.
