In a brand new season of the FD podcast Behind Closed Doors, FD journalists dive into the criminal case against the co-owner of Jumbo. Van Eerd is suspected of money laundering, bribery, and forgery. On June 23, he will appear in court alongside co-defendant Theo E.
Celebrated businessman becomes fraud suspect
FD journalists Bart Mos, Jasper Been, and Jan Braaksma have been following the criminal investigation since the raid in 2022. Together with Paulien Sewuster, they reconstruct the fraud case that turned Frits van Eerd's life upside down.
The creators spoke with, among others, the public prosecutor, lawyers, motorsport experts, and a veteran at Jumbo. They were also present at several hearings leading up to the trial that will take place at the end of June in the court in Groningen.

The first two episodes of the new season are now available via the FD, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. A third episode will follow on July 3, after the substantive hearing of the case.
